A magical spot in the midst of a forest made this large late Victorian house irresistible. But a recent radical and modernising makeover had left the interior divorced from its wild and beautiful surrounds. And the two needed to reconnect.

So while dodging the chore of major building works, the challenge was to redecorate and furnish the whole house from scratch, using natural, comfortable materials that resonated with the local landscape. These forest textures and colours softened its hard shell and conjured up some cosy, authentic character.

The owners were brave and trusting, unable as they were to visit site throughout the pandemic and having to approve most design and purchase decisions remotely. An act of faith.

" We searched long and hard to find this house and couldn't wait to get stuck into its transformation.

And despite the Covid curve ball Cid became our closest ally, beating

a path through the project turmoil.

Now we simply love the results... pulled off in very awkward times let's face it! "
