Oxfordshire House
Two modest 19th century cottages are joined to make a home for a lifetime's collection of art, antiques and books.
The challenge was to maximise its quirky, evolved and slow grown style, using soulful colour and restraint. Modernising was consciously kept to a minimum and dodgy old plaster left well alone.
Preserving character is always a worthwhile goal... as natural imperfections often reward you with relaxed and rather wonderful results. Wonky but unique.
"This property was a bit rough at first. So between us, we're simply very happy to have made a family home that suits our needs perfectly.
It functions smoothly, houses things we love comfortably and gives us all a feeling of pleasure and ease." PC Evans 2016
